My ultimate goal as a therapist is to help you be the very best version of yourself that you can be. It is my passion to help you through listening with warmth and understanding while also using evidence-based practices to bring you to growth and change. I bring a calm demeanor and non-judgemental attitude to sessions to encourage openness and honesty in order to promote an affirmative, positive environment for you to feel safe and heard in.
My preferred approach to counseling is person-centered while also utilizing a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and mindfulness techniques. Having my background in both mental health counseling and rehabilitation counseling provides an additional perspective in helping people with disabilities as well as vocational counseling knowledge. I enjoy taking a positive psychology perspective in advocating for your strengths to keep the focus on your many attributes instead of solely focusing on the negative aspects that we all tend to hone in on in ourselves. Your therapy is always your space, I always keep in mind other modalities to adapt and adjust to your needs. Maintaining an affirming atmosphere for individuals from a variety of backgrounds and life experiences is instrumental in being an effective counselor for my clients.
I have clinical experience working with anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I also have a concentration in assisting individuals and couples with sexual dysfunction, such as anxiety around sex, erectile dysfunction, and mismatched libido. Men’s sexual health in particular has remained a focal point of my experience.
When I’m not counseling, I'm acting, an avid gamer, a foodie, a gym enthusiast, an amateur guitarist, and a proud cat parent.
