Hey there,

I want to share a philosophy that's been my guiding light as a therapist – the idea of demystifying therapy. And you know what? It all starts with getting to know me better, which is exactly what I'm here to do!

My journey into therapy began before I even realized it. I grew up as one of few people of color in my small, rural town. Despite that challenge, I’ve always been curious about other people's stories, and I often ended up playing the peacemaker among my friends and family.

During my undergraduate years, I discovered sociology – studying how society works and how we fit into the big picture. At the time, I did not realize that sociology would become the first step in my journey to counseling. If you asked me to describe my life, at most points I would say it has been characterized by ups and downs with an overall uneasiness toward what it would become. Therapy and my education in social science taught me that I was not alone in this experience, rather it is the essence of the human experience.

As I went through my own therapy journey and embraced my identity, I realized how important it is to be comfortable in our own skin. Our life experiences are our biggest asset in the world of mental health. Internalizing perspectives like these have made my everyday experience of life so much more comfortable even in the presence of hardships.

So, here's what I'm all about when it comes to therapy:

I believe in digging into the meaning behind your life's story. A lot of the struggles and bad feelings we face are tied to things beyond us. By figuring out what's causing the pain, we can start taking charge again.

Your uniqueness matters. Your background, your story – they're all vital parts of your journey, especially when it comes to therapy. I'm here to receive whatever you'd like to share.

And you know what? Therapy is a team effort. Think of me as your co-pilot, helping you steer towards where you want to be. You're in the driver's seat, and we'll go at a pace that feels just right for you.

I look forward to taking this journey with you!
